It communicates easily with the Mediterranean region to the south and the Central Europe to the north. Through the Kacanicka Ravine it connects with the Adriatic Sea. The traditional Macedonian dishes are generous and deliciously rustic, with Mediterranean, Baltic and Middle Eastern influences.
